The Trauma-Informed Bookshelf

Resources for trauma-informed practice

Understanding how trauma influences the brain, body, actions, and reactions of a survivor is the foundation of trauma-informed practice. That understanding leads to more thoughtful, compassionate interactions.

The resources on this page are books and tools that have shaped my work professionally, as a trauma-informed editor and advocate for safe practices for trauma survivors, and personally, as someone who lives with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). I share them here for those who are supporting survivors, deepening their own healing, or both.

This is an evolving list with resources that add to understanding, resilience, and recovery.
